Paws & Applause: Celebrating Compassion at the 24th Annual Pawsibility Ball

On August 24th, we had the incredible honor of attending the 24th Annual Pawsibility Ball, hosted by the Humane Society of Summit County. This event is a cherished tradition in our community, celebrating the unwavering dedication and compassion of those working tirelessly to protect and care for animals in need.
At Blind & Sons, we have always believed in giving back to the community that has supported us for so many years. The Humane Society’s mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals resonates deeply with our values, and it was a privilege to stand alongside other supporters at this year’s event.
During this unforgettable evening, the generosity of attendees truly shone. Through the silent auction, featuring everything from delightful gift bags to incredible experiences like a Goodyear Blimp ride and luxurious hotel getaways, we collectively raised over $300,000 in just one night. These funds are crucial in helping the Humane Society of Summit County provide essential surgeries, training, and daily care for countless animals. It’s a testament to what our community can achieve when we come together for a cause that touches all our hearts.
One of the highlights of the evening was the opportunity to present the Volunteer of the Year Award. This recognition holds special meaning as it was created in honor of Randy Greathouse. Randy, who sadly passed away in 2019, deeply loved animals and passionately advocated for their well-being. His dedication to animal welfare inspired us to establish this award, ensuring his legacy of kindness lives on through the remarkable volunteers who continue his mission of compassion at the Humane Society of Summit County. The award was presented to two extraordinary volunteers this year: Judy Steiner and John Krajewski.
Judy and John have shown unwavering dedication to the Humane Society, going above and beyond to ensure the well-being of the animals in their care. Their kindness, patience, and love for the animals are genuinely inspiring, and we were honored to recognize their contributions with this award. Volunteers like Judy and John are the heart and soul of the Humane Society, and their efforts help create a brighter future for countless animals.
The Pawsibility Ball was more than just an event – it reminded us of the power of the community, compassion, and the difference we can all make when we come together for a cause. We left the evening feeling inspired and grateful to be part of such a caring community.
To Judy, John, and all the Humane Society of Summit County volunteers, we thank you for your incredible work. Your dedication does not go unnoticed, and we are proud to partner with the Humane Society to support their mission in any way we can.
We look forward to continuing our partnership and doing our part to help create a better world for the animals that bring so much joy into our lives.
